Angelina Ballerina Author Katharine Holabird Visits the Montauk Library

On Saturday, July 11th, beloved children’s author Katharine Holabird visited the Montauk Library to read to young patrons and sign copies of her popular books.  Katharine Holabird is the author of the immensely popular Angelina Ballerina Series.  Ms. Holabird was very eager to meet the children and share her writing with them and had some special surprises up her sleeve!

First, Ms. Holabird introduced young readers to her fantastic new children’s book Twinkle, and donated a signed copy to the library! Interested in reserving it for your child? Click here.

After reading her newest book, Ms. Holabird read the original Angelina Ballerina book to the captive audience and was assisted by her lovely niece Rachel, who danced and acted out the story as Angelina Ballerina herself, complete with mouse ears, a tail and a tutu!

Finally, the author led the children through an impromptu dance class, Angelina Ballerina style.  They did plies, jumps, twirls just like her character Angelina did in the book.

Katharine Holabird spoke with parents and children individually afterwards, signed books and took photos. It was a lovely afternoon for all!

Ms. Holabird’s books are available for borrowing in the children’s room and available for reserve.
Copies of her Angelina Ballerina books and of her latest book Twinkle are available for purchase while supplies last at the A Tale of Two Sisters shop in Montauk.
