Use of the Steinway piano for proprietary purposes is strictly prohibited.
Eligible individuals may reserve the Steinway piano for use by making an online reservation on the Montauk Library website (www.montauklibrary.org). 45 minute time slots will be available at the discretion of the Library.
Applicants must notify the Library of cancellations at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in the loss of privileges to use the Steinway piano.
Applicants and use of the piano are prohibited from moving the piano to any other location on the stage.
Any users in violation may have their Library privileges suspended.
No food or beverage may be on stage at any time. Consumption of alcoholic beverages and alcohol are prohibited on Library premises.
The piano is equipped with a custom dehumidification/humidification system which shall not be unplugged, turned off, or adjusted in any way.
The piano cover, seat, and other associated equipment must be replaced after each use.
Users should report issues or concerns to the Library Director or administrator on duty.

Users of the Steinway piano shall hold harmless and indemnify the Montauk Library, its Board of Trustees, and its employees from any liability, claim, action, or loss arising from the use of the Steinway piano, including the cost of legal fees, costs, or expenses incurred by the Library in connection with defending any claim or action arising from such use. The Library is not responsible for the safeguarding of any supplies, equipment, or other items owned by the user(s) of the Steinway piano. Items left behind will be considered Library property and disposed of in accordance with the Library’s standard practice.
