Community Service Opportunities
Grade 7-12

Teen Book Reviews: 
• 2 hours of community service,
• ongoing
• Write a 50–100-word book review to be displayed in our teen room for others to browse through.
• 2 books reviews per month

Birds of Montauk Checklist:
• 2 hours of community service
• Nov. 1-June 30
• Fill out the Birds of Montauk Checklist which includes two 15-minute sessions of bird identification and receive 2 hours community service. Bird identification data will be uploaded to e-Bird for statistical information and the study of bird populations.
• 2 checklists per month

Program Attendance with Setup and Clean-Up Assistance:
• 2 hours of community service
• Nov. 1-June 30-designated programs
• Register for designated community service programs at the library and receive 2 hours community service for helping with setup, breakdown and attendance of the program.
• 1 per month

Litter Removal /Beach Clean-up:
• 2 hours of Community Service
• Ongoing
• Students fill one large trash bag with beach/park/town litter and email us a photo of themselves & the filled bag of trash from the location of clean up to:
• kids@montauklibrary.org
• 1 per month

Please bring all completed book reviews and checklist to the children’s desk for community service certificate
