The Montauk Library Bird Club offers opportunities and resources for studying and appreciating birds in their natural habitats, while fostering social interaction and connection through a shared love of birds and birdwatching.

Download a copy of our Birds of Montauk Checklist. Return a copy to the library to receive a Montauk Library Bird Club Button. Students (Grades 7+) can receive community service hours, see the Children’s Department.
Activities
- Hosting bird walks in partnership with local parks and community organizations to provide opportunities for members to practice bird watching and identification.
- Inviting scientists, naturalists, conservationists, and historians to present on educational, conservation, and historical topics.
- Creating educational materials and developing collections to increase awareness and appreciation of the natural world.
- Engaging in citizen science projects.
- Maintaining library bird feeders and livestream feeder cam.
Audience Served
All ages and experience levels are welcome.
