LIVE: Bird Feeder Cams From Around the World

Winter is here and many of us are watching our bird feeders out the window from the warmth of our homes.  So we thought it would be fun to take a look at live bird feeder cams from around the world.  Enjoy!

 

1. Ohio
This bird feeder is located in Northeast Ohio.  You can expect to see a variety of birds, including Northern Cardinal, Blue Jay, American Goldfinch, Mourning Dove, Black-capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, 3 species of woodpecker, Tufted Titmouse, Common Grackle, House Sparrow, European Starling, and American Crows.

 

2. California
This hummingbird feeder cam is located in Studio City, California.  Depending on the time of year expect to see these species of hummingbirds, Anna’s, Allen’s, Black-chinned, Rufous and occasionally, Costa’s and Calliope. 3. Alabama
This bird feeding station located in Birmingham, Alabama. Some species you may see are White-breasted Nuthatch, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren, Carolina Chickadee, Northern Cardinal, Mourning Dove, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Downy Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, House Finch, Blue Jays, American Goldfinch, Northern Mockingbird, sparrows and you may see Eastern Bluebirds.

4. Alberta, Canada
This live feeding station is located in a residential backyard in Southern Alberta, Canada in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, close to Banff National Park. Some species you may view are Blue Jays, Northern Flickers, Nuthatches, Black-capped chickadees, House Finches, Purple Finches, Pine Siskins, House Sparrows, Slated-coloured and Oregon Dark-eyed Junco, Woodpecker, Red-winged Blackbirds, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Common Grackles, Magpies, American Crow, Common Raven, European Starlings, American Goldfinch, squirrels, and deer.

 

5. Recke, Germany
This bird feeder cam is located in Recke (North Rhine-Westphalia) Germany. Some common species you may view are Blue Tit, Great Tit, Robin, Marsh/Willow Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Long-tailed Tit, Tree Sparrows, Pheasant, Greenfinch.  This host also has a live ground feeder cam where if you are lucky, you can spot a wild hedgehog feeding!

 

6. South Africa
This live cam is located in Pretoria, South Africa.  If you are wondering exactly where this is click here for a map of the location. It truly has some beautiful species of birds and other animals that commonly visit, Hornbill, Wood Hoopoes, Coucal, Loeries, Bushbaby, Genet and Fruit Bat, just to name a few.  You can see over 50 different bird and animal species at this one feeder. This feeder is placed 20 feet above ground level.

 

7. Czech Republic
This LIVE bird cam is generously shared with us from the Makov Animal Rescue station in the Czech Republic. You may see Greenfinch, Coal Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Collared Dove, Tree Sparrow, Eurasian Jay, Great and Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Hawfinch, Eurasian Red Squirrel, Pine Marten, Hedgehog, Tawny Owl, mice, deer and storks. The deer lost their mothers at a young age and can’t be returned to the wild.

 

8. Panama, Central America
The Panama Fruit Feeder Cam is located on the grounds of the Canopy Lodge in El Valle de Antón, Panama. You can view over 80 species of birds from this one live cam, even Toucans! You can find the Canopy Lodge website here.

 

9. Ithaca, New York
This FeederWatch cam is located in the Treman Bird Feeding Garden at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, New York. Perched on the edge of both Sapsucker Woods and its 10-acre pond, these feeders attract both forest species like chickadees and woodpeckers as well as some species that prefer open environments near water like Red-winged Blackbirds.

 

10. Fort Davis, Texas
The West Texas Feeder Cam is nestled in the mountains outside Fort Davis, Texas, at an elevation over 5,500 feet. This site hosts a total of 30 hummingbird feeders, and during peak migration can attract hundreds of hummingbirds from a dozen species migrating through the mountains. During winter, our cam hosts install a more traditional bird feeder setup that attracts species like Pine Siskins, Ladder-backed Woodpeckers, and more.

 

11. Scotland, UK
This is a live stream of a feeder located in a Scottish wildlife garden. What you might see: Great Tit, Blue Tit, Cole Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Bullfinch, Brambling, Robin, Sparrow, Blackbird, Siskin, Pheasant, Woodpecker, Yellowhammer, Dunnock, Treecreeper, Jay, Starling, Wood pigeon… a small variety of mammals too, mostly voles, mice and sometimes hedgehogs, Pine Martens and Weasels.

12. Florida
This feeding cam is located in Gainesville, Florida.  You can view (UP CLOSE) over 30 bird species, including the beautiful Painted Bunting.

 

13. Montana
View the Long Eared Owl in the wild from this live webcam located in a forest near Missoula, Montana.
