The Friends of the Montauk Library is a non-profit volunteer organization that supports and promotes our Library. We raise funds to pay for resources and materials not covered by the Library’s budget. We do this through Book Sales and other events.
We provide funds for programs and sponsor our own programs at the Library. Our most popular program is the off season “movies@the library” on Wednesdays at 2:30 and 7:00 pm from October to April. We also provide an inexpensive resource for books in the community through our book sales, free with donation books at the Library, and our new “Little Free Library” located adjacent to the Post Office in town.
You can support The Friends in a number of ways-
- by answering our call for volunteers for our fund raising events
- joining our organization… Membership is inexpensive and provides you with advance notice of upcoming events.
- Donate – Donations may be monetary in the form of a traditional donation, bequest, or donations of items such as jewelry, books or household items for our sales.
Ask at the Circulation Desk for information about joining.
Our executive board meets the first Thursday of every month in the Community Room at 1PM. All are invited to attend and participate.
